How it works

Planning
The first step for any piece of art is a solid plan. We can discuss over email or phone your vision, and will agree on setting, background, pose, mood, color scheme, etc. Whenever possible I like to meet in person and take reference photos and do some sketches from life. Once this is all mapped out, I like to do a color sketch and get approval before moving forward.

Painting
Once I get sketch approval, I work based off reference photos (that I have taken or additional from you if available) and sketches to create final art piece. For more formal portraits I tend to work in multiple layers, refining as I go, which gives depth to the final piece. This can take some time, which can be discussed in more detail, but generally expect 4-6 months

Edits and Final Approval
When the painting is nearing completion, I allow 2 edits where the collector is able to view images of the painting or see the painting in person if able, and request changes. (Changes beyond this incur additional fee). Once all edits are completed and the collector gives final approval for finished piece, the painting will be varnished. Payment due upon receipt of painting.
